Personality: Wilson is something of an enigma. He's outgoing to those around him, however reveals very little about himself to people. He's a very private person, talks very little about himself and focuses a lot of his energy and attention on people around him. He has a bit of an inferiority complex when it comes to his own self-worth, though hides that by being overly helpful and caring towards others. Wilson is a very confused person who doesn't really know what he wants in life, he doesn't really know where he's going and he always lands himself into relationships impulsively. He's afraid of being alone, but is in essence a very lonely person.
History: Wilson is the middle child in a secretively dysfunctional Jewish family. While his family practiced the common Jewish traditions - Hanukkah, Bar Mitzvahs, Yom Kippar, casually practiced the Jewish food customs - they weren't strict or devout Jewish. Wilson as a result doesn't "keep Kosher".
He had a very unsatisfying childhood, never meeting up to the expectations of his parents no matter how hard he tried, and his choice to become a doctor was originally, unconsciously to gain approval from his parents (not to mention the fact that his father was a doctor). To no avail. His work quickly became a smokescreen for Wilson to bury himself into, allowing his work to define him and his status. Wilson is a very ambitious person, seeking status as a means of acceptance and success. He bases success on achievements rather than personal experience, and presents this by displaying his achievements in his office at work - sport trophies, awards, distinctions. Very little is ever exhibited about himself and his own private life.
His youngest brother took to the streets when Wilson was in college. He hasn't seen his brother in over eleven years and has no idea if his brother is still alive.
His closest friend is Gregory House, colleague at PPTH. He's been close friends with House for around ten years.
